Above all, I believe stories matter

Stories help us understand one another and they create connection.

For more than two decades, I’ve built my career around listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and finding the moments that matter. As a freelance writer and journalist, I’ve written for regional and national publications, covering topics ranging from health and education to parenting, community, and the remarkable people whose stories often go untold.

Today, I help nonprofits, educational institutions, businesses, and publications tell stories that build trust, strengthen relationships, and inspire action. Whether I’m writing a feature article, developing website content, creating donor impact stories, or interviewing someone about a life-changing experience, my goal is always the same: to create work that is honest, engaging, and deeply human.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing hundreds of people from community volunteers and nonprofit leaders to entrepreneurs, educators, military officers, physicians, and everyday individuals whose experiences remind us of our shared humanity. Those conversations have reinforced what I believe most: every person has a story worth telling, and every organization has a story worth sharing.

My work has appeared in publications including Military Officer, Carolina Parent, Cary Magazine, Midtown Magazine, Redbook, and numerous other regional and national outlets.

When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me with a good book, exploring North Carolina, cheering from the sidelines of a sporting event, or convincing myself that this is finally the week I’ll keep my desk organized.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Sport and Entertainment Management.
